Phonics puzzles printable. Combine hands-on play and learning with these new puzzles.

Puzzles are also good for the brain. Studies have shown that doing jigsaw puzzles can improve cognition and visual-spatial reasoning. The act of putting the pieces of a puzzle together requires concentration and improves short-term memory and problem solving.

These colour mapped puzzles will help your children to see the parts of the sentences clearly. They will need to look for the capital letters and punctuation marks to build the sentences correctly.

You will need to cut out the Phonics puzzles printable pieces (or ask your child to do it for extra motor skills practise). Then, encourage your child to read the sentence at the top of each page. After they have read the sentence they can build it themselves using the puzzle pieces provided. They could then have a go at writing the sentences too.

Children entering Phase Two will have experienced a wealth of listening activities, including songs, stories and rhymes. … The purpose of this phase is to teach at least 19 letters, and move children on from oral blending and segmentation to blending and segmenting with letters.

There are many other active ideas on our Facebook Page

We also have lots of word and sentence building toys and games in our shop www.funphonics.education/shop
