This Phoneme Shoot Game will leave your children wanting more learning time!
Use the chalk pen to write the graphemes (letters or units of sound) outside on the fence, patio, or on the bath tiles too!
Then, fill the 8cm crabs with water by squeezing them underwater and wait patiently while they fill up. Next, say a phoneme and ask your child to squeeze the crab and fire water at it.
You could also use the chalk pen to write a phoneme on the flat side of the crab and fish it out. Four manageable sounds at a time is perfect and then you can wipe them clean and start again!
This is a fun and active approach to learning phonics and will help to improve your child’s hand eye coordination, whilst building up the key muscles in the hands.
This pack includes:
- four friendly (8cm) bath crabs
- chalk pen
Please note that the net shown in the photograph is NOT included.
Who doesn’t love a word squirt race?! The first to squirt the word gets the point. This encourages children to speed up their blending process to read the words quickly and with fluency. Word squirting packs and flash cards are on our website.
